A: The LatiTube system is the newest surfing system on the market with 5 installations all opening in 2013 and 2014. Production has begun on machines for large aquatic centers, a hugely popular water park, a UK based tourist attraction and more to be announced.
A: The LatiTube’s ride surface is dynamic. While the rider is surfing, the wave can change from a slight slope to a steep round basin. As the wave is changing so is the tube, as valves and variable pump speeds enable longer and shorter tubes that can range in diameter. Simulating an 8 foot Hawaiian size tube to a 2 foot roller happens in seconds and often when the rider lease expects it. The devices software runs 20+ different sequences of wave shapes and tubes to create hours of challenging variations.
A: Not much! The LatiTube’s water energy is designed to affect only the rider’s board. A rider falling into the wave area won’t get swept away uncontrollably. They simply stand up and walk off.
The LatiTube ride surface hangs in place and is similar in feel to landing on a standard household inner-spring mattress.
Additionally, due to the mesh construction of the ride surface, within 1 second of pressing the emergency stop button, the wave area becomes completely free of water.
A: All LatiTube systems are fully self-contained and turn-key. They are designed to sit on a flat, inexpensive concrete pad similar to a house pad and incorporate their own plant rooms, filtration and electrical systems.
A: Yes. However, we will guide you to position services such as electrical feed, mains water for make-up, drainage, chlorine gas (if required), recommended fall to drains and other site dependent variants. We will work with your Geo-tech data to confirm final pad specs.
A: Yes, we can work with your landscape architects or civil contractors to position the LatiTube decks to meet any concourse height.
A: From 90kw up, depending on the model. Please see tech specs for more detail.
A: From 50,000 – 90,000 Litres dependant on model. Please see tech specs for more detail.
A: Yes. Consideration should be given to heating and cooling of the air to avoid condensation for all indoor installations.
A: The LatiTube is fully adjustable to each rider within seconds. This is achieved through a combination of variable water speed and wave shape. First-time riders as young as 7 can safely ride without fear of wipe-out. Seconds later, a rider with many years surfing experience can feel the same size and power of an 8ft barrelling wave..
A: Certainly, we can customize machines and & reconfigure our designs to suit your specific needs and accommodate your ideas. In fact our third LatiTube is a custom model that features a wave 3m high and tube where riders can surf 6m behind the curtain.
A: Generally 6 months. Shorter timelines may be accommodated.
